People Power Needed at Hartman Center
Volunteers are needed to help with work that will improve the appearance of the cabin. Aluminum Soffit and fascia need to be installed along the roof, vinyl siding needs to be installed over the porch and the wooden porch posts need to be replaced with aluminum posts. Materials are on hand or will be purchased with Association funds already designated for Hartman Center. What they really need is some “people “ power to get the work done. If you can volunteer, please contact Harold Karschner, at 717-994-3247. Accommodations and meals can be arranged, if needed.
National Youth Event
This event will be held at Perdue University in West Lafayette, IN July 10-13. Cost is $425 per person plus approx. $100 for transportation. The conference is asking associations to consider giving $500 to help defray the overall cost of transportation.
The Dakota Partnership
The Dakota Partnership of the Penn Central Conference is asking each association to connect with and pray for an individual church in the Dakota Association on a regular basis. They are hopeful that the prayers we offer each time we gather will result in increasing commitment to this ministry.

OCWM Task Force
The conference has a task force working on ways to increase our churches awareness of and participation in OUR CHURCHES WIDER MISSION. They have brochures, various presentations and speakers which are available to our churches at no cost.
Please consider having an OCWM Sunday or event at your church to increase awareness of the importance of vital program.
Shared Ministry Update
Shared Ministry is looking for sponsors for their Saturday Community breakfasts. They have been serving over 200 people at each breakfast (2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month). If your church would like to sponsor a Saturday Breakfast contact Richard Gordon at Shared Ministries to volunteer.
Individual volunteers are also needed.
Financial Assistance for Youths Attending Youth Events
Youth Support Funds are available for youth who are in 7th—12th grades and desire to attend youth events sponsored by organizations within the wider church. These include events such as the Harrisburg Association youth events, the Penn Central Conference youth events, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Youth Event, the National Youth Event, or the General Synod Youth Delegation. These funds may be used to defray registrations fees or transportation fees. Youth Support Funds may also be used to assist adult advisors, youth resource people, or other adult youth leaders who may need financial assistance in attending any of these youth events. Missions Around the Mountain
This mission program will provide hands-on opportunities with local mission projects. These projects will be available north, south, east, or west of the mountains, to give members of UCC churches in the Harrisburg Association an opportunity for short-term mission projects. The intent is to provide close-by, short-term mission activities to encourage members of Harrisburg Association churches to get to know one another though working together on a common project.
